License
The files are free. The name is not.
Icon files in a Kuticon pack are dedicated to the public domain. The website, the mark, and the software stay with Kuticon.
Short version
- The SVG files, the PNG files, manifest.json, and the LICENSE.txt inside a pack are under CC0 1.0. You may use them in an app or a website, including work you sell, and you do not have to credit Kuticon.
- The word Kuticon, the K mark, this website, and the program that draws the pack are not part of that dedication.
- Anyone with the link to a pack can read the sentence that made it. Do not type a password, a private name, or anything you would not show a stranger.
1. Icon files
When a pack is ready, Kuticon dedicates the icon files in that pack to the public domain under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 Universal public-domain dedication. The official text of that dedication is here:
https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/legalcode
Where a public-domain dedication is not effective, Kuticon instead grants you a worldwide, royalty-free, irrevocable license to use, copy, modify, and distribute those files for any purpose, including commercial use, with no duty to attribute.
The hand-drawn specimens on this site — bakery, garden, and ledger — are under the same dedication. A preview zip is the same dedication for its SVG files. PNG files appear when the server draws the pack.
2. What this does not cover
- The name Kuticon and the domain kuticon.com.
- The K mark and the favicon.
- The words, layout, and design of this website.
- The software that reads a sentence and builds a pack.
- The sentence you typed. That sentence is not an icon.
You may not say or imply that Kuticon made your product or endorses it.
3. Your sentence
You keep whatever rights you already have in the sentence you type. You let Kuticon read it, turn it into icon names, draw the pack, store the pack, and show that sentence on the pack’s page.
A pack made from a sentence is not listed in the gallery, but the address is not a secret. Anyone who has the address can open it. Kuticon does not ask you to make an account. To count how many packs one person asks for in a day, the server stores a hash of the network address, not the address itself, and not a name.
4. No warranty
The site and the files are provided as they are. There is no warranty of any kind, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement. A name the library cannot draw becomes a monogram: one capital letter, the same stroke as the rest of the pack. Kuticon is not liable for damage that comes from using the site or the files, to the extent the law allows that limit.
5. The site
